Book Reading Thoughts

ive been reading a bit more these past few days (i like a good cup of tea plus a book so :p) currently i am reading the art of not thinking - ryunosuke koike. so far i have a lot to take away despite only being about 18 pages in. i think the idea of learning to take in life as it is is a concept i can get behind.
to sit down and look inward on your thoughts, what emotions drive those thoughts as well as to hone in on the meaning

s of those thoughts. i find really interesting to consider. the idea that thought is what drives how we react, from how we view what others think of us, to how it effects what we say and do.
and example given in the book is that saying things such as thank you too much can leave an impression that you are never really sorry when you apologize
Or perhaps even the idea that excuses are ideas that relate to our desire to be truthful or to keep and image towards a person. I think its really interesting to delve into the idea of what our thoughts influence on our behaviour.
currently one thing i have taken away that i want to keep trying on is a lot of the self reflection aspects. narrowing in your views on your senses. what do you feel, smell, hear etc. focus on that rather then whatever thoughts are happening in your head.
i personally have been trying to be more active in my life. active in the sense i am going out of my way to smell the air on a rainy day, touching the ground around me, or savouring food i eat. rather then the mindless consumption as well as being less inside my own head but instead to be active in the world and the connection of my world around me.
